Imagine a simple-to-use device that can detect if a loved one suffers a fall when they’re alone. Imagine that same device can immediately send you a text message alerting you that your loved one is in trouble. Imagine all of this can be done with no intrusive cameras or costly WIFI connections.
Imagine no more.
Introducing HomeGuardian, a world-first artificial intelligence device that will revolutionise the aged care, disability and hospital sectors by providing carers and families with ground-breaking falls detection technology that will save lives.
Similar in size to a portable speaker, the device uses sensors to monitor movement within its line of sight and alerts carers or family members if an unexplained fall occurs.
Our amazing development team at HomeGuardian.ai have spent more than a year teaching the artificial intelligence device to recognise objects such as furniture and people, along with how to identify a fall for falls detection. It knows it is normal for an object it recognises as a person to lay on a bed but if that same object lays on the bedroom floor or bathroom tiles, it knows something is wrong and will take less than two seconds to send a text message to the person’s emergency contact.
The alert can also be escalated to other people if the primary contact fails to respond within a designated period. Everything we have developed focuses on getting help to the user as soon as possible
With falls costing Australian governments more than $3 billion in hospital admissions each year, the HomeGuardian falls detection device is not only welcome but needed.
Better still, it is incredibly easy to use with no need for WIFI, internet connections or individual programming – simply plug it into power and place it in a good vantage point to monitor a room.
By incorporating a Facility Alert Dashboard, we are also able to make an entire aged care facility or hospital floor visible to nursing staff in a single, easy-to-use interface. That is like having a staff member watching each room 24/7.
This world-first, artificial intelligence technology will allow people to live independently longer and, more importantly, save lives.
